Sunburned face stings bad!?

So I have been at the beach andwater park these past 3 or 4 days and my face is a little bit red, but I think my burn is worse. Whenever I wash my face, it soothes it because my face is really dry, but then when I put moisturizer on, or acne cream, aloe vera, etc. It stings! And it hurts really bad! Is there any way to help?? And is it possible for my burn to be way worse but not be as visible?
