Fake or natural, what's your opinion?

Today is the day of my school's prom and over half the girls going have had spray tans and most of them are literally orange, a few of them look rather natural for spray tans. I'm 16 and am naturally very pale, almost literally white, but I decided that since it's the prom I'd get a fake tan by using a gradual build up moisturiser, and now have a slight natural looking tan. I just wanted to know your opinion, do you prefer people who go fake and orange or stay their natural skin colour? Personally, as long as you're not orange and streaky I think it looks ok, what do you think?
